Handel’s Messiah

Monday, December 17, 7:30
R. E. Lee Auditorium, Pinecrest High School

Celebrate the reason for the season with Handel’s Messiah.

In this one-hour performance culminating in the glorious Hallelujah Chorus, experience the most moving musical portrait of the birth of Christ ever imagined. A musical rite of the holiday season, the Baroque-era oratorio still awes listeners more than 250 years after the composer’s death. Handel, upon completing the score of the Hallelujah Chorus, exclaimed, tears streaming down his face, "I did think I did see all Heaven before me, and the great God Himself."

An incredible line-up of vocal soloists coming in from across the country include tenor David Margulis, baritone Mark Walters, soprano Young Mee Jun and mezzo-soprano Clara Nieman.

Maestro David Michael Wolff leads The Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus.

Great holiday concert for the entire family! Call the box office now at 910 687-0287. Tickets are $30 for adults, and $11 for students.

Looking Ahead: Parisian Salons. Maestro David Michael Wolff in recital on the piano, exploring the Paris of Chopin, Liszt, Baudelaire, Debussy and Monet. Join us for an intimate evening in kaleidoscopic black and white.

Our story. Nine years ago, Maestro Wolff launched The Carolina Philharmonic with a singular goal: to create a Symphony Orchestra that would not simply embrace audiences of all ages, but reach out to our audiences for support to bring Music Education to children.

Three exceptional programs now serve 3,500 local children annually. Every year we bring the joy of music to 3,500 local children through three innovative programs:

Through interactive musical experiences and curricula, we're pushing the boundaries of the possible while exploring cutting edge trends in the field of Music Education. Along the way, we're impacting the lives of countless children.

Join us by donating. Our education programs cost $50 per child on average. We serve several thousand children every year, yet we receive no state or governmental funding. What we do is made possible only through private donations from patrons like you. Donate here online or send a donation to "Carolina Philharmonic", at 5 Market Square, Pinehurst, NC, 28374. You may also call our Box Office at 910-687-0287 and make a donation by phone.  We are a 501(c)3 and every donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
